About Vintage Toy Authority
Meet the Collector Behind Over 40 Years of Vintage and Antique Toy Expertise in St. Louis, MO

It all started with trains. In 1977, Doug Feldman — St. Louis native, lifelong collector, and owner of Vintage Toy Authority — began purchasing pre-1970s electric toy trains and accessories. What started as a hobby quickly became a deep and dedicated pursuit. By 1979, Doug had formalized his passion by becoming a member of the Train Collectors of America, an organization that helped sharpen his knowledge and connect him with fellow enthusiasts across the country.
But trains were just the beginning. As Doug continued searching out vintage pieces, he noticed that wherever great trains appeared, so did great toys. Toy cars. Tin robots. Character dolls. Vintage Disney. Pressed steel vehicles. Boxed collectibles. Each new discovery broadened his interests and deepened his expertise — building the extensive, wide-ranging collection he continues to grow to this day.
For over four decades, Doug has dedicated himself to seeking out, studying, and acquiring pre-1990s vintage and antique toys and collectibles.
Doug actively follows
current collecting trends, including the growing demand for
highly sought-after toys from the 1980s, keeping his knowledge and his appraisals as relevant and accurate as today's market demands.
That depth of experience sets Vintage Toy Authority apart. Doug doesn't approach this business as a dealer looking to flip items for a quick profit. He approaches it as a collector first — someone who genuinely values what he acquires and understands what it means to part with something you've held onto for years. That perspective drives everything from how he conducts appraisals to how he treats the people who walk through the door or pick up the phone.
When you work with Vintage Toy Authority, you're not working with a faceless resale operation. You're working directly with one of St. Louis's most experienced and knowledgeable vintage toy collectors — a person who has spent a lifetime building the expertise to give you an honest, accurate, and fair assessment of what your items are truly worth.
